California Education Code requires that teachers who teach sexual health education must be trained to use a curriculum that meets education code content requirements.
Health Connected offers at least two open enrollment trainings (link to OE page here) each school year. If the timing of our open enrollment training doesn’t work for your schedule, or if you have several teachers who need to be trained at once, we can bring our interactive training to you.
Training Fees
Full Private Training (for New Curriculum Adopters)
Description – Designed for schools or districts new to Health Connected’s curriculum. These in-depth sessions prepare educators to confidently teach the material with fidelity.
Training Length –
- Puberty Talk: 6 hours (1 full day or 2 half days)
- Teen Talk MS/HS/AAA: 9 hours (6 synchronous + 3 asynchronous)
Includes –
- Live virtual training on Zoom
- Curriculum walkthrough and modeling
Price –
- Flat Private Training fee depending on curriculum
- Digital curriculum subscriptions and optional add-on binders are sold separately
Booster Trainings (for Experienced Educators)
Description – Ideal for teams upgrading to the latest curriculum edition. These shorter trainings focus on new content, structural changes, and updated best practices.
Training Length –
- Puberty Talk: 3 hours (half day)
- Teen Talk MS/HS/AAA: 6 hours (1 day)
Includes –
- Overview of key curriculum changes
- Exploration of new materials
- Time for Q&A and practice
Price –
- Flat Booster Training fee depending on curriculum
- Digital curriculum subscriptions and optional add-on binders are sold separately
