Description
Body Basics is an interactive workshop designed to help young people learn the basics of reproductive anatomy and how to keep their bodies healthy and safe. Caregivers and their young people will engage in many short conversations that promote comfort, connection and confidence on both sides to serve as the foundation for ongoing future dialogue.
Intended Audience: K-2nd grade students with their parents and guardians
Learning Outcomes For Students:
- By the end of the session, students will learn:
- Reproductive anatomy terms and basic functions for male and female bodies
- How to set body boundaries
- Trusted adults they can reach out to for help and support
Learning Outcomes For Parents:
- By the end of session, parents will learn:
- How to develop their comfort level and vocabulary for future conversations about bodies, health, and safety with their young person.
- Age appropriate ways to speak with their young person about consent, body boundaries, and self-advocacy
