Wednesday, April 8, 2026 from 6-7 pm via Zoom
What’s Happening to Me is an interactive virtual workshop designed to teach young people about how bodies grow and change during puberty, and how to keep their bodies clean, healthy, and safe. Caregivers and their young people will engage in many short conversations that promote comfort, connection and confidence on both sides to serve as the foundation for future dialogue. Zoom details will be shared two weeks prior to workshop.
Intended Audience: 4th – 6th grade students and their parents and guardians
Learning Outcomes:
- By the end of the session, students will learn:
- The body parts and hormones involved in puberty for male, female, and all bodies
- The body parts and cells involved in reproduction
- The physical and emotional changes that commonly take place during puberty, and how to care for themselves through these changes
Learning Outcomes For Parents:
- By the end of session, parents will learn:
- How to develop their comfort level talking about physical and emotional puberty changes with their young person
- How to normalize body changes and promote self-compassion
- The value of talking to their young person about empathy and supporting peers
