Description
Teen Talk Adapted for All Abilities (TTAAA) is a comprehensive sexual health education curriculum designed specifically to help educate young people with various learning differences and support needs. The newly updated 2025 edition of this curriculum includes two sets of lessons: a 12-lesson course designed for students with mild to moderate support needs (MMSN) as well as 12 stand-alone “core” lessons designed for students with more extensive support needs (ESN). Teachers can choose to implement either or a combination of lessons, selecting appropriate content based on students’ age, needs, and abilities.
Components of the TTAAA 2025 curriculum include:
- Teen Talk AAA course: 12 sequential lessons intended to be taught for a minimum of 12 hours over 2 or more weeks
- Aligns with the CA Health Education Code (sections 51930-51939) requirements for grades 7-12
- Teen Talk AAA “core” content: 12 independent lessons independent intended to be a “menu of options” for teachers
- Multiple assessment options to review content and check for learning
- All new slides and printables, including new visuals (photos and illustrations)
- Optional videos and online games to support learning
- Topic in Practice (TIP) scenarios to generate discussion and review each topic
- Age-appropriate resources for students, families, and instructors
- Interactive activities that encourage critical thinking, skills practice, and communication with trusted adults
- Alternate facilitation options, including suggestions for teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing, blind or visually impaired, nonverbal, or physically limited
- Gender-inclusive and affirming language to promote respect and empathy
